Peter and Anne Bement join TLM as visitors

We are very pleased to announce that Peter and Anna Bement have agreed to take on the voluntary role of visitors for EFCW. They will give informal support through listening, net-working, sharing information, offering fellowship and encouragement. Although clergy are principally in mind – parish clergy, curates and retired ministers – all isolated members fall within their brief.

Peter and Anna come from Cardiff. They have two children and two grandchildren. For 25 years Peter taught English literature in universities in Wales and the United States. Anna taught business studies at Tregaron School and later at Aberystwyth College of Further Education. They both came to faith in 1983, having been invited by a friend to St Michael’s Church in Aberystwyth.

Peter prepared for ordination at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and was ordained in 1994. He served his title as curate in the parish of Hubberston and Hakin, Milford Haven, and from 1997-2008 was Vicar of Llandeilo Fawr.

Anna was licensed as a Lay Reader in 1997 and has worked with women’s and youth groups, was enrolling member of the Mothers’ Union, as well as running the church bookstall.  They remain active in retirement, helping in the parish of Burry Port and Pwll and further afield, and speaking at conferences and retreats. Both are trustees of the Ffald-y-Brenin retreat centre, and Peter is a trustee of the St Teilo Trust. They both enjoy reading, cryptic crosswords and foreign travel. Peter is a fly-fisherman and cyclist.
